Garrett Keisling began working with glass soon after graduating from high school in central Pennsylvania. During a short Furnace glass course in college he discovered glass bead-making using a torch from a fellow student. Captivated by the flame and the process, he was soon creating small glass beads and vessels to refine his skills and make money while attending school.

After several years studying scientific glassblowing and graduating from Salem Community College in New Jersey with a degree, Garrett entered the technical glass industry making hand-blown laboratory equipment for research and development at chemical and medical companies worldwide. While expanding his skills and creating artwork on the side his desire to be creative grew stronger, leaving an intense void that creating laboratory glass could not fill. Soon after Garrett started Keisling Glasswürks the success of his colorful, hand-blown ornaments became a springboard to open his studio and broaden his catalog of work.

Constantly striving for technical perfection and superior quality within my work and always searching for ways to push the boundaries of where I’m comfortable has allowed me to develop my own voice as an artist. I look forward to sharing the natural progression and transformation of my body of work as I progress as an artist working with fire and glass.” - Garrett Keisling
